NYLON
There can be little dispute around nylon being a more “precious” synthetic fiber, from an aesthetic standpoint and a durability perspective too.
One can find nylon yarns in all of our collections to some degree, with some of our mills leaning on it heavily in its “regular” version (generic nylon made from new raw materials) and some using its eco-friendly versions such as recycled nylons - Econyl by Aquafil being one example.
Akin for example, offers recycled nylon for its best-selling equestrian pant (cotton/nylon/elastane blend) which coupled with organic cotton creates a very eco-friendly, and durable, textile.
Serates on the other hand offers 2 categories of eco-friendly nylons, as explained below, from bio-degradable to bio-based meaning that it’s made from castor seed oil polymers.
SERATES
The range of Serates Sustainable fabrics translates the concept of sustainability into two product lines which in different ways contribute to reducing the environmental impact:
BIORIGINAL is a line of nylon fabrics made from castor seed oil.
DEGRI 'is a line of biodegradable nylons able to decompose in an anaerobic environment without leaving polluting residues.
